This web site will provide bibliographies and collections of historic documents, mostly abondonware still of interest, and links to other sites with such items on the Internet for a number of subject areas in the history of computing. This is a wide field; we will concentrate on applied mathematics and its tools as needed and used in many branches of engineering:
  • the general history of mathematics as background
  • numerical mathematics
  • mathematical tables and charts
  • analog mathematical instruments, in particular slide rules
  • mechanical and electronic calculators
  • digital computers, in particular their software and its creation
    • programming languages
    • mathematical frameworks and tools for correct and reliable programs
    • software engineering and its tools
  • analog computers
  • and further related computational issues

A bad stroke of fate and its many side effects have delayed the compilation for this web site for many years. There was a signifcant change recently, but there is still an aftermath. Neverthess, we hope to offer a reasonable first version sometime in 2026. Stay tuned ...
